colored water fountain

I promise I am brainstorming and making to-do lists on various entries I will write that DO NOT involve videos. But lets face it -- there are so many things that need to be shared. This edition of MY BLOG will bring clips of movies/clips/videos that creeped me out as a kid, or downright HAUNTED ME. I'm talking 'tried to remember them for years creepy nightmares about feeling like there are alternate realities involving these clips' haunted me.

I tried to remember this movie for years and figured I just had a dream about it. NOT SO, y'all.

Same thing, with this one. Specifically this exact scene. SOMEHOW DOESN'T SEEM AS HAUNTING ANYMORE? Oh those hugga bunch. I remember they had them on the TOP SHELF at king soopers and it seemed as if they existed on a higher more superior plane that I didn't have access to.

Also, this movie, THE PEANUT BUTTER SOLUTION. You can watch the whole thing on google video and I still HIGHLY suggest it. Weird.

And lastly, naturally....LAND OF CONFUSION BY GENESIS.

The DNC has rolled into town and I decided I will just treat this week like a vacation, even though I still work. This clearly includes drinking whiskey with a senator or two!

it makes me shiver

A couple years ago I found a record called 'Breaking Glass' by Hazel O'Connor.

I had originally heard the song WILL YOU? on some New Wave compilation, and considering it features one of the best sax solos I've ever heard, HAD to get my hands on the record. This is an exaggeration, as I'm not sure that the sax solo is actually GOOD, but I've measured it the only way I know how -- NUMBER OF GOOSEBUMPS.

Anyway, it turns out it's a soundtrack to this movie, which looks pretty AWESOME:

This looks sort of similar to Ladies & Gentlemen The Fabulous Stains, another movie that is not available on DVD. How come I don't have this power? Anyway, here is a full video of the song with the amazing sax.

I am still working on perfecting my playlist featuring the most perfect pop songs with saxophone solos, and this song is DEFINITELY on there.

this and that volume 1

In the 80's there was some New York Public Access show called 'Stairway to Stardom' -- a low rent (more amazing) star search filled with (the best?) the East Coast had to offer. I came across some of these videos on You Tube a year or two ago and was mesmerized. I've compiled a few favorites -- I think you will not only admire the talent, but also the lattice background.

Let me tell you -- there is more where that came from on YOUTUBE. Go on and enjoy. I know I'm definitely going to listen to LADY IN RED now!

sweatpants & goggles

I DON'T THINK I CAN PUT PRESCRIPTION LENSES IN MY BIG GLASSES ANYMORE AS I'VE NOW SEEN TOO MANY HIGH SCHOOLERS WEARING THEM. HOW, DARE, THEY!!

The dpums was this weekend and was SUPER fun and I saw three bands that I've never seen that I really liked.

p.s -- right now I can't stop reading message boards and reviews of the final installment of the twilight series by stephanie meyer. I HATE HER!

p.p.s -- the lifetime movie network asked to be my friend on myspace. how did they find me!??! Oh I guess I list that as one of my favorite film genres.
